Croatian video game industry at the Rome Video Game Lab!

The Croatian Audiovisual Center presented the Croatian video game industry at the international conference Rome Video Game Lab (RVGL), which took place in Rome in May.

RVGL is the only Italian festival dedicated to applied games – interactive virtual games with educational, social and cultural goals. Since its inception in 2018, the festival brings together development teams, scientists, institutions and the general public, and is organized by Cinecittà SpA and Q Academy with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Lazio Region.

Benjamin Noah Maričak, Project Manager for Games Croatia and responsible for video games and new technologies at HAVC, participated in a series of meetings with representatives of the Italian and European video game industry and was a panelist on the "National Video Game Industries" panel. On this occasion, he presented the potential of the Croatian industry and emphasized the importance of institutional support, the development of young talents and international cooperation in this sector. Other panelists on the panel were: Sava Andreea from the Romanian Video Game Producers Association, Mitchell Lagran from the Sustainable Games Alliance and Andri Weidmann from the Swiss Video Game Producers Association. The panel was moderated by Davide Mancini from the main trade association representing the video game industry in Italy (Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association - IIDEA).

"Participation in RVGL is extremely important for strengthening the international presence of the Croatian video game industry. Through networking and knowledge exchange with partners from Italy and the rest of Europe, we open up space for joint projects and new development opportunities," Maričak pointed out.

This participation represents a step forward in strengthening ties between the Croatian and Italian video game industries and confirms Croatia's importance on the European and global map of creative and technological industries.
